MindOverFour This is the first full length by Rising. Every Rising album is quite a bit different from one another. As it is their debut, I am not surprised to find it to be more recognizably stoner/doom metal--i.e., High on Fire, Mastodon, Dozer, etc. I found their second album to be more punk than this one and their third to be more traditional metal. Each album is masterful and completely rocks. Favorite track: Through the Eyes of Catalysis.

liam joyce The album you wish Baroness had released after Red annd Blue.
But its own beast. Heavier. Makes you pull that uuurrr metal face the whole time. Sensational.
Oceans into their graves (their third record) has ingrained itself into my mental metal hall of fame forever also.

about

RISING Copenhagen, Denmark

RISING is a Copenhagen quintet formed in 2008 creating and performing its own brand of heavy, aggressive, atmospheric, yet melodic metal music. Stylistically the band naturally incorporates metal, 70โ€™s hard, progressive and psychedelic rock along with sludge and doom and by doing so creates MUSIC rather than submerging to any stylistic dogma, a certain scene or genre has to offer. ... more
